Don’t miss this show at Movement Activities located at 400 W Rich St. Columbus, OH! I am excited to present brand new work, in collaboration with Sea↔Bus dancers, this weekend: March 17 @ 8pm and March 18 @ 2pm & 8pm.  We are one of ten tiny dances on a 4×4 foot stage. Come see dance on the small stage!!!

Great News!!!!!

I want to thank the Greater Columbus Arts Council for awarding  Performing Artists Traveling Grants to Kelly Hurlburt, Megan Davis, and Eve Hermann. These grants will secure travel for SEA↔BUS, Columbus Ensemble, to travel to Seattle this coming June 8-19 to perform at Velocity Dance Center. This will be our debut performance of Indigo.  We are so fortunate to have a Columbus community that supports us!

Show at Feverhead!!!

On November 2nd Kelly Hurlburt and I had the pleasure of performing at Feverhead along with Ariadne . Kelly and I, along with Nicole Garlando and Mel Mark, opened the show with two movement scores performed to a sound score by DJ Moxy (Moxy Martinez) . Ariadne closed the show with computer generated visuals projected on a giant white wall with a sound-scape that wowed and amazed. You can check out Ariadne here. I hope you enjoy this video of Kelly and I performing. (thanks Kelly for editing the video!)

Recently I traveled to Willard, Wisconsin for a week long Contact Improvisation workshop named GLACIER. The workshop was located at the Christine Center , a local retreat center nestled in the Wisconsin woodlands.

Since 2002 the GLACIER group, which stands for Great Lake Area Contact Improvisation Enthusiasts Retreat, has been organizing CI workshops, jams and classes in the Mid West and the Great Lakes area particularly. This was my first time at their annual week long GLACIER workshop but it was not my first time mingling and grooving with GLACIER community members. For the past four years, since I started practicing CI, I have rubbed shoulders with the GLACIER community at such places as Detroit, Ann Arbor, MI, Chicago, and Mazomanie, WI. It was a pleasure seeing so many familiar and friendly faces. GLACIER 2016 included a talented teaching team which included Stephanie Nugent, Andrew Brightman, Holly Jaycox, Daniel Halkin, Susan Mckenna, and Margaret Paek.

The last night of the workshop we had an informal showing of different performance ideas the GLACIER participants wanted to show each other at the Christine Center. Kelly Hurlburt, Laura Mobley, and myself performed an improvisational score that consisted of a, “trio of duets”. The score was thought up by Kelly and the three of us fine tuned the score the hours before the performance. The idea was to create a constant with in the trio that would anchor the three dancers together while said dancers shifted between duets with each other. The results were wonderful and it was a pleasure to create. I hope you like it as well….
